Air Europa is a Spanish airline and is the largest in Spain after Iberia and Vueling. It has its base in the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport (MAD). The ICAO code of the airline is AEA. The airline has a fleet of no less than 42 aircrafts, including 17 Airbus A330-200. Air Europa is part of the SkyTeam alliance, including KLM, Air France, Delta Airlines and Alitalia.
Air Europa is considered a cheap airline for intercontinental flights. Certainly for those flying from Europe to South America, the company is a cheaper option than, say, Iberia. You can find return tickets to Buenos Aires or Lima for less than 600 euros.
Air Europa was founded in 1986 under the name Air Espana SA. Today it is known as one of the most modern airlines. This reputation is partly due to the fact that it was the first Spanish company to use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the most efficient aircraft on the market.
Air Europa has a total of around 46 destinations. Firstly, it connects numerous European destinations with Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. It also connects the European continent with Latin America. With destinations such as Miami, New York, Marrakesh, Tel Aviv, Tunis and Casablanca, it also has some connections with North America, North Africa and the Middle East.
Air Europa can be considered as a budget airline for flights to Latin America. This puts the Spanish Iberia in particular.
